1、continue可用作不及物动词,也可用作及物动词。用作及物动词时可接名词、动名词、动词不定式或that从句作宾语。也可以接as短语充当补足语的复合宾语。

2、continue还可引出直接引语。They want to continue their education.他们想继续读书。He continued the boring work day after day.他日复一日地做着乏味的工作。

3、continue用作不及物动词The earthquake continued for about two minutes.地震持续了约两分钟。The fighting continued for a week.战斗持续了一星期。

4、用作系动词S+～+as n.He is to continue as manager.他要继续当经理。
